Dining Room Makeover

We have lived in this house for almost a year now and until recently had no furniture in the dining room!  And I don’t know about y’all but empty rooms in my house collect clutter!  Things would just mysteriously appear in the vacant room.  More and more stuff would pile up.  But now, we have a full dining set!

We bought a used table with 6 chairs and a buffet server.  It is just what I was wanting, dark wood with black seats.  It looks great in the room.  Maybe because it is the actual table that was in the room when we first saw this house nearly a year ago!  Yep! That’s right!  We became friends with the people we bought the house from, they moved and sold their table.  So, it is back home where it belongs. hehe.

I am having so much fun decorating the walls.

The sconces:

(sorry for the bad lighting of the pic 🙂 )

I had this fork, knife and spoon hanging on some hooks in my kitchen but I think they are pretty fitting for the dining room, don’t you?

I LOVE this little group of decor!  The box/shelf/frames (?) were given to me and I already had the figurines in a box just waiting for a home!

I could not center them onto the wall because when the door is open it takes up most of the wall.  So, I centered it from the edge of the open door to the corner of the wall:

When the door is open the boxes are no longer centered (okay, maybe I have a slight issue with things being centered) so I am gonna put a vinyl word vertically alongside of the tall box.  Then it will always be centered and the world will be a happy place!

I am not sure what word I will choose, yet.  Maybe LOVE? I dunno…

I will post more pictures of my new dining room tomorrow!

I’ll leave you with a question.  What would you do with this piece?  I am thinking a nice coat of spray paint is in order but should it go inside or outside?  Something is telling me inside but I am not sure exactly where I will put it yet.  Send your ideas my way!

Great idea of putting the vinyl letters so the wall is always centered.
